BVA Welcomes Tim Lauer - Operating Partner

For the past 30 years, BVA's mission has been to help great people build great companies. To continue to support our mission, we are excited to announce that Tim Lauer has joined as BVA as an Operating Partner. We've known Tim for 20 years, both personally and professionally, and have been impressed with his leadership style, integrity and ability to adapt throughout career moves that have spanned across multiple countries and job responsibilities within leading technology companies. As an Operating Partner, Tim will work with our portfolio company founders drawing on his diverse experience in both large and small companies to support organization & team building, international expansion, corporate development, go-to-market and much more. Tim’s 25 year career in technology includes working with leading VC, fortune 500, and several tech startups companies. He has lived more than half his career in Taiwan where he developed deep relationships and learned the best methods to partner and do business with leading technology companies across Asia. While at Intel Capital, Tim led global business development working with 150+ portfolio companies valued at several billion dollars. He also held leadership roles within Intel’s sales and marketing organization where he was responsible for global accounts and regions with revenue >$1B. Prior to joining Intel Capital, Tim founded APAC Ventures LLC with offices in US and Asia. Over a period of 10 years, he had the opportunity to work with several US and European technology startup companies on Asia go-to-market, business development, funding raising and team building that contributed to successful exits. Tim champions building diverse and global teams who think BIG and know how to build trust with each other, customers and partners. Tim has a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Florida State University and an Executive MBA from Pepperdine University. ​
