BVA Welcomes Randy Smith

BVA welcomes its latest Advisor, Semiconductor Industry Veteran, Randy Smith. Randy will focus on Semiconductor, Intellectual Property (IP), Software, and is the founder of Randysan Marketing, a consulting business focused on marketing, sales, business development, & interim executive management roles in support of several types of high-tech companies.

Throughout Randy’s career he has been known as an exceptional team builder, having built or rehabilitated numerous executive, sales, and marketing teams. Randy is now combining that expertise with the latest in recruiting techniques and SaaS tools to help companies achieve higher levels of team performance with greater recruiting efficiency.

Randy has developed this expertise while holding several CEO, board member, executive management and advisory board roles at EDA and semiconductor IP companies. This has included public companies as well as several start-ups with successful exits.Randy has been CEO of Tuscany Design Automation (acquired by Dassault Systèmes), Polyteda, and KM Core USA. Randy was a co-founder of Tangent Systems, Cadence Design Systems first acquisition in 1989.

Randy was also an officer or consultant to several other companies with successful exits among them Artisan Components (ARM), Gambit Automated Design (Synopsys), Celestry Design Technologies (Cadence), AutoESL (Xilinx), and Jasper Design Automation (Cadence).Randy is also a blogger with SemiWiki.com writing under the pseudonym, Randysan.
