Business Development Director

The Business Development Director will be instrumental to TRT meeting growth targets by identifying new potential customers in X-Ray, Imaging Systems, Wearables and Patient Monitoring (target segment) Technology markets, initiating and sustaining contact with prospects to identify qualified projects, promoting TRT capabilities as a solution to their project needs, and driving the sales process to a close. The Business Development Director position requires a hunter mentality with the ability to lead a team driven sales process, drive adoption of good commercial practices, and strategically expand client relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Works with VP of Sales & Business Development and Practice Area Leadership to develop sales targets and strategies to penetrate, qualify and close business in the target segments

  • Identifies new potential clients in target segments

  • Penetrates target clients through both “inside” sales methods and face-to-face meetings

  • Identifies qualified opportunities within target clients and promotes TRT’s service capabilities

  • Collaborates with TRT practice area and technical teams throughout the sales process

  • Monitors and supports the proposal process

  • Assists in negotiating and closing project contracts

  • Consistently hits/exceeds sales and sales activity targets

  • Heavy Salesforce usage to capture activity, meetings, and opportunities

  • Attends conference and other industry networking events to promote TRT’s services

Education, Experience and Skills

  • BS/BA degree required

  • 10+ plus years of sales experience, preferably spanning both inside and outside sales roles

  • Strong listening skills as well as excellent written and oral communications required

  • Service industry experience required

  • Experience with the implementation of growth, new business development, and marketing initiatives that lead to stronger market penetration

  • Experience working with or selling x-ray/imaging systems or wearables/patient monitoring is a plus

  • Experience working in outsourced R&D, product development, engineering or contract manufacturing is a plus

  • Ability to forge solid relationships and manage across a broad and geographically dispersed business

  • Strong team player and builder, receptive to ideas from others

  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
